Goffstown Man Sentenced to Over Eight Years on Firearms and Narcotics Offenses

CONCORD – A Goffstown man has been sentenced to 102 months in prison and four years of supervised release for firearm and narcotics charges, U.S. Attorney Erin Creegan announces. Mark Williams, 45, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Joseph Laplante today. According to the charging documents and statements made in court, in the early morning hours on October 27, 2023, Williams was driving a borrowed vehicle when he became involved in a single-car accident in Goffstown, New Hampshire. Williams walked away before Goffstown Police arrived. The unoccupied vehicle sustained disabling damage and was later towed. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a loaded 9mm handgun and distribution-level quantities of methamphetamine (41 grams), cocaine (73 grams), and fentanyl (452 grams). Williams was later arrested on November 13, 2023 and has been in custody since that date. “Mr. Williams illegally armed himself and was prepared to use violence to further his drug dealing operation,” said U.S. Attorney Creegan. “Today’s sentence reflects the serious threat posed by those who mix firearms with dealing dangerous drugs like fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine.” “The combination of a loaded firearm and significant quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl posed a serious threat to public safety,” said Special Agent in Charge Jarod Forget, New England Field Division. “This sentence reflects the commitment of the DEA and our law enforcement partners to hold accountable those who traffic dangerous drugs while armed. We will continue working to disrupt the criminal activity that fuels addiction, violence, and harm in communities across New Hampshire.” The investigation was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Goffstown Police Department, and the Manchester Police Department. Valuable assistance was additionally provided by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles L. Rombeau is prosecuting the case.
